1) COMPETING MODELSSUPER LATE MODEL
STOCK CAR SPECIFICATIONS 2010
- Open to 1965 through 2010 models. No trucks or jeeps.
- Open to American made sedans and hardtops. No convertibles. Minimum wheel base 104”. Right and left side cannot vary over two inches.
- Any General Motors, Ford, Chrysler, etc. may compete and look presentable.
2) BODIES
A. All cars must be STOCK appearing, full bodies, neat and clean. Badly mutilated, damaged or unsightly cars are not permitted.
B. All cars must have complete bodies, hoods, fenders, floors, dashboards, bumper and grills in top quality condition. Rear end must be enclosed with solid metal and stay closed when on track. (No screens)
C. Hoods must remain in original locked position and closed. All hoods must have positive fastener. Shock cord recommended. No car permitted to start race without a hood unless given special permission by track steward.
D. Filler disk in steering wheel recommended.
E. Hoods - air scoops permissible - 2" maximum height. 10" maximum width or length. Up to 1-1/2" holes can be drilled into the front of the hood for cooling.
F. Any type of bracing for protection, front or back, will be permitted as long as it is not visible. Outside bracing permitted as long as it is no more than one inch above bumperettes or no higher than the lip of the hood or trunk lid. Rub-rails between wheels permitted if flush with body and no larger than 1 x 1-1/2" rectangular tube (NO SHARP EDGES!). Must remain inside wheelbase and tire thread and be painted color of car. All front bracing must be behind the nose. Cable, chain or some device must be accessible on front to pick up car with tow truck. 1/8” thick by 2” wide strap steel may be used to hold nose to inner bracing.
G. Body must extend beyond wheels and tires. Must have stock appearing grill.
H. Firewall may be altered if put back in safe condition.
I. Mandatory asphalt nose section & front fenders. Full-size asphalt roof. No dirt noses. No dirt bodies. No flat-sided cars. No dirt fender/wings. Body must have a roll in the side panels.
J. Asphalt nose main bumper minimum 15” from bottom to ground. From top of hood to top of nose piece, maximum 8” drop.
3) GLASS - WINDSHIELD
A. Full windshield recommended.
B. Screens permissible. Must cover entire windshield frame. Side glass must be removed. Rear window optional.
C. Windshield shell must appear stock O.E.M. - also front door post. Strongly enforced.
4) ENGINE - No V6's
A. Engine must be mounted in original or solid mounts. Engine location six inches maximum set back. Measurements will be taken from right front ball joint versus right front spark plug. Engine must be stock appearing. No offset engines.
B. Engine and transmission may be interchanged with other makes, Chevy in Ford etc.
C. Engine must be stock appearing. No dry-sump engines allowed.
D. Crankshaft height - no lower than nine inches from ground (measured from center bolt).
E. No aluminum engines - OEM or otherwise.
F. No 18 degree heads. 23 degree heads only.
5) CARBURETION
A. Stock style 390 Holley with choke tower removed. Double pumper allowed. NO RACING CARBURETORS, NO HP CARBURETORS. MUST HAVE CHOKE TOWER CUT OFF FLUSH WITH TOP OF CARB (NO ALTERATIONS).
6) ELECTRICAL
A. Any type ignition system that cannot be timing controlled in any way.
B. No computerized triggering systems, MUST HAVE DISTRIBUTOR.
C. Any tachometer allowed except for those with timing control ability. YOU MATY BE REQUIRED TO UNPLUG YOUR TACH.
D. No manual timing control systems.
E. All cars must be equipped with self-starter in working order.
7) FLYWHEEL, CLUTCH, TRANSMISSION, REAR AXLE ASSEMBLY
A. Stock steel stick shift type flywheel. No racing transmissions, automatic or manual. Stock type steel pressure plate-Triple Disc Optional. Scatter shield mandatory.
B. Rear axle assemblies allowed that are safe for racing. No offset rear ends. Rear ends – 2 suspension setups only, three bar or multiple leaf. Axle tubes must be within 1” of each other. Coilovers permitted on rear of car only. Three bar car – solid mounted, minimum 3 ½” below axle, pan hard bar must be solid. No birdcages. No locked out birdcages. No swing arms. No spring rod or rubber controller on top bar. Both springs or coilovers must be mounted in front of rear axle, on top of axle or behind axle. No staggering permitted. No progressive rate springs. Leaf car – All leafs must be steel and you are allowed two shocks on top.
C. Quick change may be used; full locked type only-no anti-slips. NOTE: LOCKED means both wheels must turn same direction only.
D. No added traction bar assemblies such as Reese-type or fifth spring, etc. Stabilizers must be rigid, no rubber units or telescoping.
E. All springs must be metal only.
F. No in and out boxes. No Falcon or Bert transmissions.
8) HUBS AND SPINDLES
A. No cushion drive plates on rear axle hubs.
B. Heavy-duty spindles and hubs may be used and are strongly recommended.
9) CHASSIS
A. Any chassis welded to Camero stub 48” long, but right side cage and top hoop must be added and three door bars on right side with a minimum wheelbase of 104 inches.
B. Chassis height no lower than FOUR INCHES from ground, measured from under front cross-member
10) SUSPENSIONS
A. 1970-1980 O.E.M. Camero front stubs only. NO tubular front stubs. Coils must be under A-frame similar to a stock setup and appear O.E.M, NO ALTERATIONS of design of O.E.M. stub from firewall forward.
B. MoPar and FORD cars call Speedway for special permission.
11) STEERING
A. Steering rack and pinion or stock allowed (quick steering allowed on stock style only). Power steering recommended.
12) GAS TANKS
A. Must be installed in trunk and equipped with a steel firewall between driver and tank.
B. Fuel lines running inside car must have rubber coating.
C. Fuel pumps mechanical only. No electrical fuel pumps.
D. GASOLINE ONLY
E. Fuel cells recommended. Rollover valve recommended on vent tube.
F. Twenty-five (25) gallon maximum
13) SHOCKS
A. Heavy duty shocks permissible. No adjustable shocks from driver seat.
14) EXHAUST
A. We recommend pipes extend beyond the driver to the outer edge of the car or to the rear. Pipes must extend out of the engine compartment.
B. Any headers – Silencers required and must meet 100 dcb at 100 feet.
15) COOLING SYSTEM
A. Fans optional. Air cleaners mandatory. Interchangeable radiators allowed. Over-flow tanks optional.
16) WHEELS
A. All four wheels must be of the same diameter (example: all 14 inch, 15 inch, etc.).
B. Reversed wheels permitted but must be inside fenders and safe for racing. 10 inch - width maximum.
C. Safety wheels recommended. Homemade or purchased. All wheels must be painted WHITE or be LIGHT COLORED.
D. Steel rims and wheels recommended. No bead locks.
17) TIRES
A. Towel City retread-course tread 11” wide. NO WARRANTIES.
B. 2 compounds available, 77-89 bias ply Hoozier casing.
C. No grooving or altering of tire.
D. Available at Sycamore Speedway
E. 2001 tires also permitted.
18) ROLL BARS – Mandatory
19) BODIES – Maximum width 80 inches
A. Cars must have stock appearing bodies; stock looking roofs and roof line, stock looking fenders; stock looking front and rear deck. No flat roofs.
B. Metal bodies recommended.
C. No shortening of rear section of body.
D. No Corvette bodies.
E. No front fender alterations. Straight line only. (top)
F. Rear clip must be stock appearing and stock length. Trunk deck and rear must be closed in with solid metal; no screens.
G. No offset bodies. Roof must be centered on car. Must look O.E.M.
H. Rear spoiler must be of transparent material.
POINT MONEY
SUPER LATE MODEL CLASS ONLY
ELIGIBILITY - Must compete in 90% of races at Sycamore Speedway. No point money if you race at another track on a night that Sycamore Speedway is racing. 5% of Super Late Model purse will be held back and matched by Sycamore Speedway for a point fund. Top 15 cars eligible for point fund money. Point fund payments and points earned by car owner.

TROPHY DASH, HEATS, SEMIS AND FEATURE B-C-D: 1st = 3 points, 2nd = 2 points, 3rd = 1 point
LAST YEAR'S POINT CHAMPIONS RETURN MONEY – 1st $100, 2nd $75, 3rd $50, 4th & 5th $25
MUST meet point fund qualifications to be eligible for any points or bonus money. All money paid at end of season or at banquet.
