Super Late Model
Results

What a great way to start our 2011 race season.

Eventhough the sun was behind the clouds for the evening, the rain stayed away,
and we got a full night of racing under our belts.  The momentum was great, drivers
were ready to race, fans were ready to cheer and the night started promptly at 7
with time trials.  To set the pace for the night,  Car #44 Chris Thielsen, St. Charles,
set a time of 15.67 seconds to capture fast time for the Super Late Model Class.  At 8pm, our fastest 6 super late models hit the track to start the season off with the first official race of the 2011 season.  Car #133, Johnny Heath of Kingston, took the first trophy home for the season.  The night then proceeded to the heat races where car #03, Dan White of Villa Park & Car #28, Charlie Olson of Kingston took home the wins.

After seeing all of our racers hit the track at least once, we went straight to our features.  The Super Late Models were next on the block and these gentlemen, had us on the edge of our seats throughout their final event.  The leaders led strong and had a full class of competition on their tails.  Car #01, Greg Cantrell of DeKalb took the lead from lap 1 and held on for the next 25 to take home the first feature win.  He was followed by last year's Super Late Model Champion 28, Charlie Olson of Kingston, IL and taking third was car #12, Jeff LeSage of Burlington.

Thanks to all of our patrons, drivers and staff for a successful season opener.  Don't forget to bring your mom to Saturday's races so she
can get her carnation to start her Mother's Day off right.  See you all there.

Steve Gardner, #122, of St. Charles was the proud Lm trophy dash winner.

Car #37, DJ Sparks of Belvidere and car #2, Chad Puffer of Sycamore took home the wins for their heats.

Just to mark a few of the changes for 2011, the sequence of races from the past, we got a chance to see the Late Model Class put on the first feature of the season and put on a great show.  Lots of competitive drivers showing a lot of skill.  The one to take home the gold was car #46, Rick Walters of Elgin, followed by rookie and last years spectator co-champion, car #20 Tim Ludke of St. charles, third place was held by
car #02, Mike Crowe of S. Elgin.
