Press Release September 30th, 2013
Sycamore Speedway has come to an end for 2013. And what a way to end the season, the track fought questionable weather, a brand new event and then some lighting issues to make it a night to remember. The main feature events were not able to be ran due to the rain but the track rearranged the schedule of events to make sure they got as many events in as possible. The drivers got to have some extra fun to as some of them raced each other on foot along the front stretch of the track slipping and sliding all the way. When a clay track gets wet it becomes extremely slippery. They were determined to put on a good show even if it wasn’t in their cars. As the rain came they postponed the big car events and brought out the figure 8’s and demo races. Those boys and girls made a lasting memory of smashes and crashes.
The management team of the speedway has already started preparing for the 2014 race season. They want to get a good head start on the planning and encourage all to sign up on their mailing list at www.sycamorespeedway.com and like them on Facebook. As events are created and added the track is going to be sending out blasts and special offers for the 2014 season.
Sycamore wants to congratulate their champions one more time. Charlie Olson #28 of Kingston for the 2013 Super Late Model Championship, Tim Ludke #20 of St. Charles for the Late Model Championship, Scott Vetter of Union for the 2013 Spectator Championship, Mallory Jackson of St. Charles for the 2013 Powder Puff Championship, Mike Cunz of Cortland for the 2013 Compact Championship, and Ryan Decker of Palatine for the 2013 Full Size Car Demolition Derby Championship & Eddie Brown of Sandwich for the 2013 Compact Car Demolition Derby Championship. These ladies & gentlemen of racing dedicated themselves to both Friday & Saturday night of racing to take these top honors. Without any of them our race nights would not be what they are. Congrats again to all of these Champions.
They hope to see you all at the races in 2014.
